Roya Eshraghi

Roya Eshraghi was born in Iran (1985) migrated to Costa Rica at the age of 15. She has studied Anthropology (CR) and Documentary filmmaking in Cuba.
Memory, migration and a quest about identity are her themes. One particularity of Roya’s cinema is that the artistic process, becomes part of the film itself.
Her short films (Nada ni Nadie, Derakht -The Tree-, Lorenza, la radio y tú) have been worldwide screened. Ex. Spain, USA, Australia, Costa Rica, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, UK, Argentina. Her works have received international recognitions, special mention to nominations and awards as Best Short Film. The acclaimed filmmaker Francis F. Coppola after watching “nada ni nadie” at EICTV described it as “a poem about memory”.
